Prime Suspect USA is inspired by the multi-award winning UK series of the same name, created by Lynda La Plante. Transporting the action from London’s Scotland Yard to a New York City homicide department and transforming the central character of no-nonsense British DCI Jane Tennison into tough-as-nails NYPD homicide Detective Jane Timoney.
Maria Bello (A History of Violence) stars as Timoney, an outsider struggling to be accepted in a male-dominated homicide squad in New York. Jane is confident and focused - and also abrupt and occasionally reckless. Rumours of her past follow her everywhere, but she's an instinctively brilliant cop who can't be distracted from the only important thing: the prime suspect.
Prime Suspect USA - In my opinon the best crime drama on all channels. Maria Bello is the only female cop who looks and acts like a cop.
I hope we shall soon be watching a new series as it was announced 'this is the final series'.
